Our tours vary in price depending on the itinerary and duration. Our one day tours typically start from £600. However if you book a multi-day tour with us additional costs are included, such as the cost of your guide's accomodation.
You are responsible for booking your own accomodation separately and we will provide an itinerary showing which town you will be staying in each night. We are always happy to suggest accomodation options for you from our experience tour guiding across the country.
Each private tour can accommodate up to seven guests, all included in the price of your booking.
Our Ford Tourneo vehicle accomodates up to seven passengers in total. The cost of your tour will not change if you have three people or seven.
All attraction and excursion costs are not included in your tour price and are payable directly to the site on the day. If any sites require advance booking or prepayment, we’ll let you know well in advance and guide you through the process.
We’re always happy to advise on costs and help you plan accordingly. As a general guide, entry to castles, museums, and visitor centres typically ranges from £10–£15 per person.
Unfortunately we don't book accomodation for our guests. However we're very happy to advise, liase and even contact providers on your behalf if needed. With years of experience touring across Scotland, we know the accommodation landscape well and can offer tailored suggestions to suit your preferences and budget.
One tip we often share with guests: if you're considering a hotel rated under 4 stars, in general, a bed and breakfast will often be the better choice. While this is a generalisation, it's a helpful rule of thumb and a good way to look at the accommodation situation in Scotland - in particularly the Highlands.
Our tours can begin almost anywhere.
We base our typical itinerary on an Edinburgh departure for consistency and to give you a rough idea of your timings.
We're happy to pick you up anywhere within an hour of Edinburgh - to be more specific we are happy to pick up and drop off in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Stirling, St Andrews and all of their satellite towns and villages, including anywhere in Fife and the Scottish Borders.
If you're starting further afield - in Inverness, Aberdeen or Dumfries & Galloway, for example, we can still accommodate your tour. A modest additional fee may apply to cover extra travel time and guide accommodation, if required.
Children are welcome on our tours but we must ask that you organise hire of the required ISOFIX child seats or boosters. Our vehicle is fully ISOFIX ready and these are the best type of child seat to hire. We can assist with places to rent these from.
We don’t have a strict age limit - our tours are private and can be tailored to suit your group. However, we do suggest that families with very young children consider the nature of the travel involved.
Our itineraries often include long days and scenic drives, with stretches of up to 90 minutes between stops. While we do our best to keep travel times comfortable and flexible, children under 3 years old may find the experience less enjoyable.
If you're travelling with young children, we’re happy to adapt the pace and structure of your tour to suit your family’s needs.
Everyone is welcome on our tours, and we'll always do our best to make your experience as comfortable and enjoable as possible. However, please note that our vehicle is not wheelchair-accessible and does not have the space or specialist adaptations required for mobility aids.
If you or someone in your group has specific access needs, we’re happy to discuss options and offer honest advice about what’s possible. We want every guest to feel safe and well cared for - and we’ll always be upfront about what we can and can’t provide.
Absolutely - we’re all about special requests. Whether it’s a particular place, a personal interest, a family connection, or a unique experience you have in mind, we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.

Yes you are welcome to eat and drink on our tours.
Unfortunately we do not allow animals on tour.
We recommend travelling as light as possible - ideally one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person. If you have a lot of luggage may we suggest you store as much as you can for the duration of your tour.
Importantly, if you’re travelling with us to Islay or Speyside, make sure you leave a little extra space for whisky!

Yes. We are fully insured on our vehicle, to operate tours and under UK Public Liability.
Visitors to Scotland from outside the UK/Ireland require a valid passport, and from 2025, an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for visa-free travel. EU/EEA/Swiss citizens need a passport, while Irish citizens may use a national ID card. Ensure your passport is valid for your stay, and carry proof of accommodation.
Required Documentation for Holiday to Scotland:
Passport: Required for all non-UK/Ireland citizens, valid for the duration of the stay.
Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA): Starting in 2025, many travelers will need this digital permission to enter the UK, costing £16 and valid for two years.
Visa: Citizens from the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the EU generally do not need a visa for stays up to 6 months.
Proof of Accommodation/Funds: Border officials may ask for proof of your return journey and that you can support yourself.
Children: Children must have their own passports.
We recommend booking at least 60 days in advance. You should book as far in advance as possible in order to make sure you have everything in hand and the more flexibility we have to plan your special experience.
That said, we’ll always do our very best to accommodate last-minute bookings. Just be aware that during busy seasons, limited availability - especially for accommodation or popular attractions - can make things a little trickier. If you’re thinking of booking, it’s always worth getting in touch as soon as possible.
Our tours are in English (Scottish) specifically in William's Northern Highland accent.
Yes - our tours are available all year, and each season brings its own unique charm. That said, we generally recommend using British Summer Time (late March to late October) as a guide, especially when it comes to daylight hours. During this period you'll enjoy more hours of daylight, peaking in Midsummer.
The further North you go the more this impacts. For example, on Skye at the end of September sunset might be 6pm, but by the end of October it’s more likely to be 4.30pm.
Winter tours have their own charm, and we are ready to show you Scotland's winter wonderland.
Please note: we will not commit to any multi-day tours that require a ferry journey after 31st October or before 1st March. due to the risk of weather-related disruption. But there’s still plenty to explore on the mainland during these month, due to the risk of weather-related disruption. However there’s still plenty to explore on the mainland during these months.
Your departure point is your accommodation and we will arrive 15 minutes before departure at the latest. We suggest that you are also ready to leave 15 mins before departure time.
If you are late we can assist but will more than likely have to miss some attractions or stops to allow for this.
Of course you can we are very flexible and we never force you to stick rigidly to the itinerary.
Smoking is not permitted in our vehicle and we would all that you smoke at least 10 feet away from the vehicle at all times.
The short answer to this is no. Although it is improving it is patchy. 4G and often 5G is available on most major settlements, and all accommodation provides internet, but we will certainly struggle for mobile reception in large parts of the Highlands in particular.
