5 Day Islay Whisky Pilgrimage
Experience the spirit of Islay on a 5 day whisky discovery tour of this legendary Scottish island.
Tour Description
"Laughter o' love and a welcoming there, Isle o' my heart my own one." A famous line from a beloved Scottish song that truly reflects the feeling you’ll get when you complete your pilgrimage to one of the friendliest place in Scotland. You'll be warmed, of course by 'Uisge Beatha', 'the water of life' - as you travel round this marvellous island sampling the national drink in what some have described as 'Whisky Valhalla'. With ten distilleries (and counting) you can choose to see them all, or select your favourites. Each one has its own story, character and its own unforgettable dram. You will spend your first night en route to Islay in Campbeltown - Scotland's oldest and newest whisky region - an intriguing combination. The following day, you will sail on a two hour ferry journey from what is a fairly remote terminal on the Kintyre peninsula. Travel with us in comfort and style, taking in spectacular scenery along the way, with the chance to stop at a bonus distillery or two en route. A personalised itinerary will be sent upon booking, and we’ll work closely with you to arrange the route and timing that best suit your needs and interests. Pick‑up is available from your chosen location, with a typical start from Edinburgh at 8:30am. Please note, accommodation is not included, giving you the flexibility to choose lodgings that suit your style and budget. Our experienced team are happy to provide recommendations. Please also note, additional excursions or optional activities may be offered during your tour. Participation in extra excursions is entirely optional and may incur additional costs, which will be clearly communicated at the start of your tour. Extra excursions are subject to availability and may depend on factors such as weather, seasonal access, or local conditions. See our full T&C's for further info.
