Perthshire: Scotland's Heartland
A day in Scotland’s heartland - clans, gardens, riverside charm and Highland beauty.
Tour Description
Often described as the 'Heart of Scotland', the ancient region of Perthshire straddles the Highland Boundary Line and has long been home to some of the country’s most famous clans. Gentle lowlands rise into dramatic Highland hills, and centuries of history still shape the land and the people who live here. This full‑day journey takes you through some of Perthshire’s most atmospheric landscapes and historic sites - from grand gardens and clan heritage to riverside city charm and treasured national relics. Typical itinerary: AM: - 09:00 - Pick up at your chosen location. (Timing based on an Edinburgh departure). - A stop in the historic village of Dunblane with its stunning cathedral and golden post box. - Explore one of Scotland’s most magnificent formal gardens, historic seat of the Earls of Perth - and by the Jacobite line, the Dukes of Perth - Drummond Castle Gardens. PM: - Enjoy lunch in the fair city of Perth, which sits on the mighty River Tay, before visiting the newly refurbished Perth Museum, home to some of Scotland's most cherished relics. - 17:00 - Return to your accommodation (based on an Edinburgh drop-off).
